review Vbulletin 4

Forum scripts are some of the most used  script from all of the Internet. A forum script it is actually a community script which discuss a particular topic and it’s a cheap way to consult specialists in various fields.

Stephen talked about one of these scripts forum and it asks: decline or renaissance for SMF?

Today we will talk about a script: vBulletin 4.0. (In this article when I refer to Vbulletin 4.0 Suite it is the version with CMS and Blogs)

I worked with this script a few days and I can say that somehow it fascinated me but it was also a big disappointment. The script is very well made and runs very well in our forum section but in CMS  and groups section it runs badly.

Some pages aren’t loading at all and even some have crashed all the server. In the CMS are added more than 15,000 articles and over 20,000 members on the site.

I did a test: only 200 articles in our CMS all queries were made in about 0.5 seconds. With over 15,000 server crashed but I noticed that in slow.log that execution time for mysql exceeding 150 seconds.

I commented in source files some queries that ate a lot of resources  so i do not get any problems. My advice for the  Vbulletin team: optimize your queries!!!!
So I do not recommend to use Vbulleting 4 just yet until the bugs are fixed.
