Hide/Show extension in Windows

0

Every time I create something new, like a text document, the name has .txt on end. How to get rid of it?

You can not get rid off that. That is the extension of a file.
You could choose not to see it.
Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder option ->View-> check Hide extentions

The same is to show extensions: just check that box
